Arena bosses are squaring up for a regional battle after a long-established rival to Leeds’s newest venue announced a multi-million pound revamp.
Sheffield Arena has announced a £2m project which it said would improve customer experience and attract the biggest names.
It’s chief executive Steve Brailey denied the improvements were a direct response to the challenge posed by Leeds, but said the investment would cement his venue’s place at the top of the regional bill.
Mr Brailey said: “Promoters go to the venues that sell tickets. Sheffield Arena sells tickets, Leeds Arena has not yet been tested.
